Autumn Makeup Tips

So, we are at the start of April, and March has just left us which marked the beginning of a new season, Autumn (or Fall, if you’re American) How is your skin feeling? Let’s take a moment to assess.

Is it feeling drier than usual, oiler than usual, and more blemishes or has it rebalanced to a ‘normal’ state?

Autumn is the best season to get your skin under control because it isn’t too hot or too cold. The best news is you can treat it with the utmost love and attention it deserves!

The sunshine can leave our skin feel dull and tired. So here are some fresh tips to get your skin back onto the road of a natural glow!

ONE – Change your every day foundation (powder or liquid) to a Tinted Moisturiser or BB Cream

Although I love applying a full coverage to my skin when I am going out, sometimes it can feel a little heavy and lighter coverage feels and looks better during the day.

(BTW – if you’re worried about blemishes with light coverage, did you know you can actually cover them without using a heavy foundation?)

All you need is…

Tinted moisturiser

Buffing brush

Excellent concealer

Powder alone can look dry on most skin types (yep, even if you’re oily – I know right?!) So check out the latest post to Why I never use powder as my foundation

TWO – Eat your cosmeceuticals!

I know we don’t want to admit it… but Autumn means Winter is coming! That means we need to be prepared for the darker, colder, wintery days mentally and physically – so lets start prepping our skin for the challenges it will face during winter and boost the skins immune system while preserving its quality and restoring its natural glow!

Foods rich in Omega-3 essential fatty acids and antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C & E can help reverse Summer’s damage (gotta love that!). While we should be eating these foods seasonally anyway, now is the perfect time to check in with our (skin) health!

Avocado
Guava
Papaya
Figs
Sweet Potato
Carrots
Kiwifruit
Bananas
Pomegranates
Zucchini
All Berries

And the list goes on…but those fruits/vegs are the main ones to add to your list!

THREE – Invest in an awesome lip service

There is nothing worse than the feeling of dry chapped lips from constant socialising over summer.

Our lips cannot be forgotten coming into the cooler months so this is the perfect time for take some TLC for your kissable lips to get them onto the road of recovery.

The best thing to do for your lips is to exfoliate with a clean mascara wand (this is called a spoodle) and add some sugar to remove the dead skin then, coat your lips in coconut oil to sooth.
